Climate Salad Connects at _SOUTHSTART

Along with Climate Salad co-founder Mick, several Climate Salad member startups have spent the past three days exploring the innovative Adelaide-based _SOUTHSTART Revival festival. This included the opportunity to connect with some of the brightest minds in the climate tech startup space, and to highlight their company in the demo alley. Matthew Forrest (Economial Energy)
We want to make long duration energy storage more economical, so that we can use more renewable energy without the need for fossil fuel backup generation.

Tom Reed & Allys Todd (ValAi)

ValAi is building the tools the industry needs today so they can meet the sustainable finance demands of society tomorrow. We tackle data accuracy, efficiency, transparency and auditability challenges. We undertake data analytics and automation services using Ai. We build infrastructure to inform government, insurance, lending and property sectors.

Christiaan Jordaan (Sicona Battery Technologies Pty Ltd)

Sicona develops next generation battery materials technology used in the anodes (negative electrodes) of lithium-ion (“Li-ion”) batteries that enable electric-mobility and storage of renewable energy. Sicona is commercialising an innovative silicon-composite battery anode technology, and our current generation silicon-composite anode technology delivers 50% to 100% higher capacity than conventional graphite anodes and its anode materials can deliver more than 50% higher cell energy density than current Li-ion batteries.

Matthew Stead (Ping Services)

Wind turbine blades have an acoustic signature. We record changes in this signature to continuously monitor the health of your wind turbine blades and use advanced acoustic analysis to detect damage.

Thomas Gooch (Office of Planetary Observations)

We enable city planners to underpin policy, design & built outcomes with frequent environmental analytics from satellite. Our comprehensive reporting process includes benchmarking data sets that reveal changes over time. We do the 'big data' heavy lifting for you, making environmental analytics easily accessible.

Steve Taitoko (Eratos)

Everything you need to create, publish and scale solutions for the world around us. Create personalised collections of distributed and aggregated data and tools.
