About the Mission

Queensland Government and Climate Salad are partnering to take up to 10 Queensland climate tech companies to Paris and Hello Tomorrow Global Summit in March 2024 as part of the Building Queensland's Climate Tech Industry project.

With the support of the Climate Salad team, experienced mentors and industry experts, you'll have the resources and guidance you need to navigate new markets and drive growth. Climate Salad's Paris International Trade Mission includes a week of in-country networking, introductions and information sessions for high-potential Australian climate tech ventures interested in expanding to the EU. The program gives you tailored customer introductions and mentorship, and the opportunity to exhibit and participate in Hello Tomorrow Global Summit Event.

Who is This For?

Queensland founders of a startup or scaleup business with the following requirements:

  • You can commit to the dates March 17-22nd 2024
  • You are able and willing to travel to Paris during the key dates
  • Have headquarters in Queensland
  • Be export-capable and export-ready
  • Be prepared to adapt the product or service for the new market
  • Be flexible regarding the market-entry method
  • Have resources to support marketing and development for a new market
  • You understand how attendance and collaboration opportunities during the trade mission matches the stage you are at in progressing your innovative solution; or will build capability or enable innovation participation in your region, community or industry sector
  • Your attendance and collaboration opportunities at the event will support your contribution to building Queensland’s innovation community

Eligibility Requirements

Climate Tech Founders

You must:
  • Be the founder or a senior leader of a climate tech business headquartered in Queensland as of December 2023
    Climate tech is defined as a “scaleable tech-enabled product (hardware or software) that helps solve climate or environmental problems”
  • Have an employee number between 3 and 300 full-time equivalent (FTE) employees
  • Have a website featuring the product or service
  • Have an Australian Business Number (ABN)
  • Submit only one application per ABN
  • You can commit to travel to Paris during the key dates March 17-22 2024
  • You are able and willing to cover your own travel costs during the program
  • You can attend virtual pre-trip market intelligence workshops during late February and early March
Climate Tech Ecosystem Builder

You must:
  • Be a climate tech ecosystem enabler headquartered in Queensland as of June 2023
  • Have an  Australian Business Number (ABN)
  • Have no more than 50 full-time-equivalent employees
  • not be a subsidiary of a group of companies that has more than 50 FTEs in total
  • Submit only one application per ABN or a financial beneficiary of a business for each event
  • Be an enterprise with a focus on embedding innovation and entrepreneurial business models and products/services, and/or building the climate tech innovation ecosystem.
  • Tell us how attendance and collaboration opportunities at the event will build capability or enable climate tech innovation participation in your region, community or the climate tech sector
  • Tell us how your attendance and collaboration opportunities at the event will support your contribution to building Queensland’s climate tech innovation community.
